Marc Chagall (1887-1985)
Over the course of his career, Chagall developed a poetic and amorphos visual language which anticipated the Surrealist movement. He composed images based on emotional associations rather than the rules of pictorial logic. His work has been exhibited across the globe from the Albertina in Vienna to the Tate in London.
