Virtual “Gala in your Parlour” Dinner
Superstars were delighted to be partner and support The John King Brain Tumour Foundation Virtual “Gala in your Parlour” which showcased a virtual event from the comfort of your own home! On Saturday 17thOctober 2020, Michelin Star Chef, Brian Turner CBE hosted an evening of the finest hospitality alongside a Superstars live auction in aid of The John Brain Tumour Foundation. With our partnership, the charity were able to hold a live auction during their virtual event! This was completely new for everyone involved as Superstars together with jumblebee, had to work hard to develop this cutting edge new technology. This has completely revolutionised the future of fundraising!
Every detail was planned out perfectly and timing was key working behind the scenes for the “Gala in your Parlour” making sure a smooth event went ahead for guests around the UK. Over 150 guests enjoyed a virtual evening from their own home, with the option to dress half smart and bottom half whatever they liked! A Michelin starred feast was delivered straight to their door filled with a luxurious banquet designed by the Executive Chef of the Ritz Hotel, John Williams MBE. These banquets were organised throughout the evening with guests being told when and how to perfectly cook their three-course meal. Starting off with a lightly smoked tranche of salmon, quenelle of tangy horseradish cream and a luxurious spoonful of caviar. Main course was a sumptuous boeuf à la bourguignonne finished with a ‘edible garden’ dessert. All meals were paired with bottled of white and red wine from Accolade Wines, two premixed cocktails from Pedrinoand miniature Tarsier artisan gin. Alongside excellent food and great entertainment “Gala in your Parlour” hosted beautiful music, fantastic hosts and of course important and emotional stories of why it’s important to help raise for a worthy cause.
We cant even begin to express the incredible work the John King Brain Tumour Foundation does to help improve the outcomes for patients with brain diseases and disorders. Fundraising events just like the virtual evening help to support The John King Brain Foundation to make a difference, encourage further research and advanced treatments. The structure of the live auction was staggered throughout the evening with items being flashed on their screens and guests bidding for incredible prizes ranging from a 5 Night Stay at an exclusive resort in the Bahamas to fine dining in your own home by the Executive Chef at Claridge’s! Having a live auction throughout the evening gave guests the opportunity to out bid fellow virtual guests during a tight time restraint making it extremely competitive. The funds of which would all go to supporting the vital work of the neurosurgical team at St. George’s Hospital.
Overall the first live auction ever held by Superstars in a virtual event was a complete success, raising the John King Brain Tumour foundation a breath taking £40,000. This year COVID-19 has had a huge impact on charities and the fundraising sector, virtual evenings such as the John Tumour Foundation provides us all with a light at the end of the tunnel and allows a future for fundraising.
